I’m starting a new series where I write #ALoveLetterTo whatever is filling my phone, heart or mind at that current moment. Today’s has a touch of sparkle about it but then that shouldn’t come as a surprise.
You know that feeling of wanting something so badly but never finding the item that lives up to your expectations. I had that with velvet dresses. I’ve wanted one forever but it just hasn’t worked out. Until now.
A couple of weekends ago, I popped into my local Debenhams with my mum and instantly laid eyes on this deep blue H! by Henry Holland number. Boom. It was love at first sight. The fitted top is covered with red and silver sequin hearts and stars before flaring into a skater skirt – major shocker I know. It couldn’t fit me any better and was exactly what I’d always dreamt of. What really made this was the fact that it was heavily discounted so I picked it up for just over £10. Which, let’s be honest, is ridiculously cheap.
Obviously I had to pair it with my red glitter boots and a bold red lip. Nothing else would have done the dress justice.
Now excuse me while I go back to stroking it…
I just so happen to think this might be the ULTIMATE party dress.
It has sequins AND fringing. I feel like if it only had one of the options I’d be happy, but both, that’s next level excitement. All my prayers have been answered. It’s incredible.
All hail the mecca that is ASOS for this T-Shirt Sequin Fringe Dress.
I actually think that if I owned this dress, I would spend the entire time spinning around on the dance floor, because this is definitely a dress that needs to be danced in. I’m imagining the sequins shimmering under the lights and the fringe flying around as I twirl uncontrollably. In my mind, I’ve already added this to my basket and checked out.
Did I mention that it also has a low back? And I’m a sucker for a scoop or even backless dress. Damn.
Sometimes, all you really need in life is a good swinging-sixties tunic dress. It’s even better if it’s covered in iridescent sequins just waiting to shimmer under the right lighting.
I’d go one step further and pull up some knee-high socks and layer on the liner and false lashes.
See you under the disco ball.
You can get your Iridescent Sequin Tunic from ASOS for £85. You’re welcome.
Sometimes summer evenings get a little chilly and you need a jumper to throw on to beat the goosebumps. Right?
Well I’ve found that jumper.
Because who wouldn’t want a sombrero-wearing chihuahua on theirs?
Especially when this chihuahua and his sombrero are made of hundreds of multicoloured sequins. And we all know that sequins are like my favourite thing in the entire world.
Thanks Markus Lupfer. I know you’ve always got my jumper-covered back.
