Sound the klaxon, we’re getting into party season people! Strictly’s gracing our screens, the supermarkets are stocking tins of Quality Streets and the stores are full of sequins. All this means one thing, bedazzled, embellished-to-the-max shoes of dreams, ready to get their groove on.
Help, please. You see I have an ASOS voucher burning a hole in my pocket and I’ve whittled down some holiday worthy outfits but I can only afford one.
Any time I get a whiff of a new Chloé collection I get the feels. I then start imagining myself as a free spirit, running through fields of daisies in my billowing, ruffled, sheer dress, Chloé of course. And then I blink and crash back to reality. Here are a few of the reasons why I dream of being a Chloé girl.
For today’s Want it on Wednesday post we’re taking a step back to the seventies, with folksy florals and bell sleeves. And I’m liking it.
My cousin and I were born a mere 10 hours apart and we’d class each other more like sisters than cousins, but when it comes to our sense of style, we’re complete opposites. Gem favours a retro 50’s look, all nipped-in waist, sleek silhouette and matching accessories. Whereas I am all about oversized, comfort and clashing prints, textures and colours. For one day, more like 1 hour max, I decided to see what it’d be like to swap styles and become a 50’s pin-up.
My favourite kind of weekend involves little more than moving from my bed to my sofa, with the help of Elle magazine, chips and guac and my laptop. This weekend however I had a bigger job ahead of me as Al and I decided it was time to attack the house and unpack those pesky boxes we haven’t looked at since moving in together a year ago.
It also meant delving into our wardrobes and ruthlessly throwing out any item we haven’t worn recently. Which reminded me of my trusty Topshop mum jeans which look all the better when paired with an oversize ASOS tee, floral kimono and Kurt Geiger leopard and glitter trainers. And a bright pink lip obviously.
